1. About Pass the Helmet
Pass the Helmet is a community fundraising platform built for the Pacific Northwest motorcycle community. We facilitate donations between community members. We are not a charity or nonprofit.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an account, start a campaign, or donate. By using this platform you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Campaigns
All campaigns must be motorcycle-community related and are subject to admin approval before going live. Campaign goals are capped at $5,000. One active campaign per user at a time. Creators must wait 30 days between campaigns. Creators cannot donate to their own campaigns.
4. Donations & Funds
Minimum donation is $2. Pass the Helmet takes a 5% platform fee on all funds raised. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. If a campaign goal is met early, funds are released immediately. At campaign end, creators receive whatever was raised regardless of whether the goal was met. All payouts are subject to admin approval.
5. No Guarantee
Pass the Helmet facilitates fundraising but does not guarantee campaign outcomes, fund usage, or the accuracy of campaign descriptions. We are not responsible for how funds are used after payout. Donors give at their own discretion.
6. Fraud & Abuse
Fraudulent campaigns, false information, or abuse of the platform will result in immediate account termination and potential legal action. We reserve the right to cancel any campaign and withhold funds pending investigation.
7. User Conduct
Users must not post hate speech, harassment, or abusive content. Comments and campaign content are moderated. We reserve the right to remove content and ban users at our discretion.
8. Tax Responsibility
Campaign creators are responsible for reporting funds received as income. Stripe will issue 1099 forms where required by law. Pass the Helmet is not a tax advisor — consult a professional for your specific situation.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
